November is National Novel Writing Month and I’m dreadfully behind on the 50,000 words required by next Tuesday. I could hunker down and attempt to blast out the last 40,000 words OR I could change my focus. November is also National Adoption Month. This, unlike NaNoWriMo, is a subject I rock at. Here are a few things I have adopted:
1) a child – just one so far.
2) a pet - a veritable food chain.
3) a fine disposition – but things could change at any moment.
4) a good habit – too many and too boring to list
5) a BAD habit (much more fun than #4) – all I’m saying is the Halloween candy bowl is now empty.
6) a charity – ’cause we all need a cause.
Now, go forth and adopt something or someone! And here, for your enjoyment, is today’s Microfiction Monday photo – thanks to Susan at Stony River! Feel free to add your own 140 character (or less) story. I got a little help from my 8 yr old for mine (see below).

Dan The Deer was headed to the big game when his day took a turn for the worse.

HEADED to the game. Lol! Good one. Guess he missed the TAILgate party.
That was awesome, kudos to the 8 year old! David’s comment was funny, too!
Poor Dan the Deer! Good one. Your little guy earned his keep.
(I had a rough time with the MF story this week. Next time that happens I’ll borrow your young muse.)

I like this. It’s like a Far Side caption.
Sadly that’s the name of the game. The buck ends here!
